Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Service Manager

Seeking a proven Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Service Manager to maintain heavy equipment and diesel trucks for a metal recycling facility.  Perform routine maintenance and repairs for material handling cranes and a full range of trucks, large and small equipment, and other mechanical work as assigned. Supervise two heavy equipment mechanic assistants by assigning daily work assignments. This is a Monday thru Friday day shift work schedule at our recycling yard located in Dallas, NC.

Essential Functions

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, service, a variety of light, medium and heavy-duty trucks and heavy material handling equipment for proper performance.
• Trouble shoot equipment that will not run and service to get running again.
• Manage two Heavy Equipment Mechanic Assistants by assigning and monitoring daily work assignments.
• Maintain all hand and power tools in safe and efficient operating condition.
• Regulate use of equipment in the absence of supervisory personnel, if needed.
• Responsible for shop area organization, maintenance, safety, and cleanliness.
• Perform related work as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Proven Heavy Equipment Mechanic Experience – 3 years minimum
• Hydraulic Trouble Shooting Experience – 3 years minimum
• Ideally Experience with Liebherr, Atlas, Fuchs, or Sennebogen Material Handling Crane
• Electrical Trouble Shooting and Repair
• Valid Driver’s License
